What a great mom!

I cracked at least one rib last Saturday…

…playing baseball with a bunch of seven and eight year olds.
It’s like I was living out Toby Keith’s “I Ain’t as Good as I Once Was”.

It took me three long days to figure out that, in MY body, Acetaminophen only works for issues with my noggin…  Ibuprofen works from the neck down…  Who’da thunk?

Anyway, that’s not why I’m writing this…

I was lying in bed, Sunday afternoon, in pain, wishing I could sleep…
Oh, for Pete’s sake, you men are such babies…..
So… yeah…  What’s your point?

As I was saying before your thoughts interrupted me, WHILE I was lying in bed feeling sorry for myself – thinking of all the stuff I wasn’t getting done this weekend…
I was listening to life happening in the other end of the house.

She’s baking a cake, doing dishes, chasing a 20 month-old toddler, directing our eight year-old in cleaning his room, washing a load of laundry, drying another load, folding the one that just finished, and surprisingly, sounding very relaxed.
The thought came to me… again… for the millionth time.

What a great Mom my wife is!  What would I ever do without her?

That’s one thing I never want to find out.
But it amazes me how she can juggle so many things at once – working through the chaos – and yet appear unfazed.

The girl’s got skills.

Reason #385,614,906,216,475 for why I married this dreamgirl…

An’ she’s all mine…
