Our Speaker of the house has stepped in it.
Remember when you were a kid and you were supposed to write a paragraph about a word the teacher picked – and you have no idea what that word means?
The Speaker of the House gave herself a vocabulary test the other day in front of the camera and failed…
Referring to the Word of God, she attempted to parallel it to public policy and how she rolls as a leader.
I’ll let her explain: (courtesy of CNSNews.com)
If anything, this shows the dividing line between religion and relationship with Jesus.
If something is your favorite, use something other than the item itself to describe why it’s your favorite…
(They teach you this in grade school.)
“Tis better to be thought … aka, Don’t lecture the world about that which you appear to know very little.
(I’ve had to learn this one myself… more than once.)
Be careful not to bend your “favorite” thing to align with those things you hold most dear…
“And that Word,” Pelosi said, “is, we have to give voice to what that means in terms of public policy that would be in keeping with the values of the Word. The Word. Isn’t it a beautiful word when you think of it? It just covers everything. The Word….”
I wonder what scripture backs her vaunted public policy on abortion?
Now, all harrumphing aside… including my own… we need to pray for the Speaker. As an elected official, it is our duty as Christians to pray for her as well as all other elected officials. Remember this the next time you are with the King… even Nancy Pelosi needs your prayers.
No, you don’t have to pray that she gets all her liberal agenda passed – instead, pray that she makes decisions that truly line up with the Word of God. Pray that someone is placed in her path – someone she really respects – that can bring her to the full knowledge of Christ, not just the humanistic version. Pray that she gets to know Him as you do. On second thought, pray that she gets to know Him better than you. Even if you don’t respect her, give her the honor that the position calls for… give her the honor that just being a human being calls for.
Yeah, I know. Tall order. Trust God. He’s her King too, even if she doesn’t know it yet.
